Location: Aula Magna (Piazza Leonardo Da Vinci, 12)

The White Coat Ceremony first ever edition dated 2017 upon suggestion of the students themselves-over the years the tradition has continued until today.

The ceremony involves the delivering of the white coats for students from 3rd year about to begin their clinical rotations in local hospitals.

The professors hand out the coats to all students, and at the end they recite together the famous Hyppocrates Oath, the foundation of the moral ethics for future doctors.

The Ceremony dates back to the 1990s, where it originated in the US at the prestigious Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, by the works of Dr Arthur P. Gold.

This is a ceremony to welcome medical students into the practical medical environment that will profoundly characterise their future in their medical career, and also a reminder of the Oath all doctors must respect in their profession.
